History
Woorabinda – The Camp by the Waterhole
Woorabinda has successfully
operated as a residential
education setting since it was
officially opened in
February 1973.

Originally an inspectorate
camp for the children of the
Warragul inspectorate,
Woorabinda was established
by a group of dedicated
educators, school councillors
and committed locals.
The site, on the north shore of
Lake Narracan, was provided by
the State Electricity Commission.
The buildings were once the nurses quarters at the Yallourn Hospital.

In 2010 Woorabinda became a campus of Somers School Camp, a primary school under the adminitration of the Department of Education & Training (DET).
